Our Team Experience

We are a team of highly-skilled former Executives and Senior Managers from leading life sciences and managed care organizations, with operating experience in Executive Management, Commercial Development, Sales, Marketing, Market Analytics, Trade Relations, Account Management and Business Development.

Our National Accounts team includes regionally located Managers with in-market expertise and established customer relationships. These professionals are supported by account administration professionals providing database development and management, customer communications, account analysis, auditing, reporting, and other services.

In addition, our Partners and Managers consult to clients on strategic product, portfolio, and corporate decisions, and are supported by a team of highly-skilled research and analysis professionals.

Implementation Team

Randolph S. Carpio

Randolph S. Carpio - General Manager

Mr. Carpio, a former Sr. Director with NDCHealth, was responsible for the Wall Street development group providing market intelligence to the pharmaceutical and biotech sector, financial institutions, research centers and media organizations. Mr. Carpio was with NDCHealth for over three years in a Senior Management role developing new informatic products for pharmaceutical manufacturers within managed care and pharmacy sectors.

Prior to joining NDCHealth, Mr. Carpio was a Director in National Accounts for AstraZeneca. Mr. Carpio implemented pull-through programs for clients to ensure healthcare professional confidence within AstraZeneca’s portfolio of products.

Prior to this position, Mr. Carpio was responsible for the marketing of Toprol-XL®. During this time he identified the opportunity to seek an indication in CHF for this product. With the conclusion of the MERIT-HF trial, Toprol-XL® was catapulted to one of AstraZeneca’s top selling products. Mr. Carpio served in various sales and management roles during his nine year tenure with AstraZeneca.

Mr. Carpio attended The University of Arizona and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Northern Arizona University.

Raymond G. Carter Jr.

Raymond G. Carter Jr. - National Account Manager

Mr. Carter has over 24 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry involving Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, and Public Policy.  Mr. Carter has been with VCGBIO for two years as the Associate Vice President of Government Strategies managing the Medicaid, Managed Medicaid and Military Systems. Mr. Carter works very closely with each VCGBIO National Account Manager.  In addition, Mr. Carter also has experience in client management with VCGBIO.

Prior to joining VCGBIO Mr. Carter was Director of Corporate Accounts with King Pharmaceuticals covering the entire U.S. specializing in the Government sector.

Mr. Carter served on two different Congressional Committees in Indiana; the first for determining policy for Medicaid and Medicare, the second for determining public policy for family values at a national level. Mr. Carter served as a Midwest delegate and represented the pharmaceutical industry through his nomination to the board of Together RX, a lobbying organization that worked with Pharma and elected officials in Washington DC.

Over his career Mr. Carter has been the recipient of seven national awards; his previous work experience includes Merck, Bayer, Élan Novartis.

Mr. Carter earned his MSA and BA from The University of Notre Dame.  He was the recipient of a four year football scholarship at University of Notre Dame and later served as an assistant football coach under Lou Holtz.

Luke Donohue

Luke Donohue - National Account Manager

Mr. Donohue has been employed with VCG for three years, contributing to the trade and commercialization segment, as well as, managing government accounts.

Mr. Donohue has extensive knowledge in State Licensing function providing pharmaceutical clients efficient and complete licensure compliance throughout the United States. He has also helped numerous companies with the 3PL selection process, as well as, research in trade, and specialty pharmacy projects.

Mr. Donohue also works in the government sector calling on state Medicaid and Veterans network accounts. He is currently responsible for Medicaid accounts on the West Coast.

Mr. Donohue is a graduate of The College of Wooster with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.

Sid Geller

Sid Geller - Vice President Trade & Commercialization

Mr. Geller has worked in the wholesale drug industry for nearly forty years. For the past seven years, he led a business model changeover in the industry from speculative purchasing to fee-for-service and was directly responsible for nearly five billion dollars in profitability for Cardinal Health.  As Vice President of Strategic Purchasing, he was involved in critical areas of the seventy billion dollar distribution company, which had direct impact on the company’s operations, financial results, and trade relations with pharmaceutical manufacturers. He was instrumental in helping to establish Cardinal Health as the premier wholesaler distributor in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. He has worked with pharmaceutical companies on new product launches, central distribution of their products, chargeback’s, recalls, has negotiated over two hundred fee-for-service agreements, and other issues related to pharmaceutical distribution. He currently consults with top pharmaceutical companies on helping them negotiate their fee-for-service rates with pharmaceutical wholesalers.

Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Mr. Geller was General Manager at Holsin Drug Company in N. Amityville, N.Y., a regional pharmaceutical wholesaler. In his role as General Manager, he worked with the DEA on issues related to class two and three narcotics, managed the purchasing department, and met with pharmaceutical manufacturers.  He also acted as a sales liaison to their retail customers.

He is a two time winner of the Innovation for Success Award (1994 Holsin Drug and 1998 Cardinal Health), which is an industry award designed to recognize wholesaler executives who consistently practice helpful and innovative approaches in working with pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Mr. Geller is a graduate of The State University of New York at New Paltz and earned his Bachelor of Arts  Degree in Political Science. He received his Masters in Business Administration in Market Research from St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York.

Ted Koppenhoefer

Ted Koppenhoefer - National Account Manager

Mr. Koppenhoefer has over 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in hospital sales, hospital management, long term care, regional, national account management, and trade. Prior to joining VCGBIO, Mr. Koppenhoefer had worked most of his career with Bayer Pharmaceuticals. He has also worked with smaller Pharma and medical device companies before joining VCGBIO.

Mr. Koppenhoefer’s positions have included Contract Negotiation, MCOs, PBMs, Commercial and Part D Plans, GPOs, LTC, Mail Order, State Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Specialty Pharmacy, Wholesalers, Corporate Retail Drug Chains, and Independent Pharmacy. Strong clinical knowledge base includes therapeutic areas of Diabetes Care, Infection Disease, Cardiovascular, Dermatology, CNS, Gastrointestinal, Immunology, Oncology and Rheumatology.

Mr. Koppenhoefer has been on a number of committees, pre and post-marketing of new products, managed care strategies, LTC Strategies, call reporting, segment strategy, and developing SOPs. In addition to developing Regional Account Manager and National Account Manager job descriptions, he has launched over 20 pharmaceutical products throughout his career.

Mr. Koppenhoefer received his Business Administration Degree in Marketing from The University of Cincinnati.

Frank T. LaSusa, R.Ph.

Frank T. LaSusa, R.Ph. - VP of Trade & Commercialization

During his 30 year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. LaSusa has held various positions ranging from sales representative to Executive VP Sales and Marketing. In the last 25 plus years he has been responsible for Trade Sales/National Accounts for Brand, Generic and OTC products including injectables, liquids and solid dosage pharmaceutical products. Customer responsibilities included pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers, chain drug and mass merchandise retailers, independent pharmacy, managed care and GPO accounts. Mr. LaSusa was also responsible for new product launch planning and stocking throughout the distribution network and implementing pull-through programs to help facilitate sales growth.

Product categories Mr. LaSusa has worked with include pain management, cough cold, respiratory and infection control. The companies Mr. LaSusa held positions at included Auriga Labs, PAI, ENDO, Prefil, SoloPak and Bristol-Myers Squibb.  He also acted as the key company representative at all national association meetings and trade shows.

Mr. LaSusa is a graduate of Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He is also a graduate of The University of Wisconsin, School of Pharmacy and is a licensed Pharmacist.

D. Philip Parsatoon, R.Ph.

D. Philip Parsatoon, R.Ph. - National Account Manager

Prior to joining VCGBIO, Mr. Parsatoon was the Senior Consultant at PCN where he provided strategic direction to healthcare companies on PBM services including pricing, contracting, Medicare and Medicaid relationships, and clinical and mail services.

Mr. Parsatoon has extensive experience in managed care, including PBMs, managed Medicaid and Medicare. He most recently served as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Trade Relations for Prime Therapeutics, a PBM servicing approximately 14 million lives.  At Prime Therapeutics, Mr. Parsatoon was responsible for pharmaceutical contracting and mail order procurement.

Mr. Parsatoon also held the position of Vice President of Professional Services for PCN where he managed trade relations and clinical services, which included overseeing the pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T), clinical solutions for clients, prior authorization, and health informatics departments.

Mr. Parsatoon, has also worked in the pharmacy benefit management industry at PCS (now Caremark/CVS) and ValueRX (now ESI). While at PCS, Mr. Parsatoon developed the Drug Information department and worked on pharmaceutical relations, P&T, and client management.  During Mr. Parsatoon's time with ValueRX, he developed disease management programs, with a specific focus on programs for respiratory diseases. He has also held positions with Merck and AstraZeneca.

Mr. Parsatoon received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from The University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and is a Registered Pharmacist.

Jean Ritter, R. Ph.

Jean Ritter, R. Ph. - National Account Manager

Ms. Ritter has 25 years experience in the managed care industry with strong experience in rebate contracting, operations, and account management.

Prior to joining VCGBIO, she was Regional Account Manager for Astellas Pharm U.S. with responsibility for identifying and developing business opportunities within regional accounts in the Western United States.  During her tenure at Astellas, she helped launch two new pharmaceutical products by providing both clinical and financial information to managed care organizations in her territory and working with the sales team to optimize sales opportunities.

Ms. Ritter has extensive experience within the PBM industry, including 13 years at Caremark/ AdvancePCS/PCS where her responsibilities focused around pharmaceutical company contracts.  She spent over six years as a Director, Rebate Contracts where she was responsible for contract negotiations, financial assessment, contract implementation, dispute resolution, and policy and procedures.  She also provided operational expertise for other pharmaceutical company programs as Director Product and Services Operations for five years, where her responsibilities included sales operations, account management, metrics development and presentations to pharmaceutical company product teams.

Prior to her tenure at Caremark/AdvancePCS/PCS, Ms. Ritter was Manager Rebate Contracting for Diversified Pharmaceutical Service (DPS) for eight years.  In this role, she was responsible for contract negotiation, financial review, optimization of rebates, customer payments and audits.  She also was responsible for Pharmacy and Therapeutic meeting presentations for DPS customers and implementation of clinical programs to support DPS clinical and financial recommendations.

Ms. Ritter has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from The University of Minnesota, and is a Registered Pharmacist with several years of retail pharmacy experience prior to working in the managed care industry.
